Kommentti: Present a painting

I chose the Mona Lisa because it is so famous and I think that everyone knows it. Leonardo da Vinci has painted it. He started making it in 1503 and finished it in 1507. The Mona Lisa is in Paris, in the Louvre at the moment. Leonardo da Vinci painted it with oil paints.

No one is sure who is a model of the Mona Lisa. Some people suspect that it is da Vinci but most of people think it is a woman named Lisa Gherardini. Mona Lisa is larger than a normal portrait. There are many speculations about the Mona Lisa's smile. Some people think that her smile is bored and others think it is sad.

In my opinion Mona Lisa is beautiful work of art. It tells the history of women who lived at that time. Mona Lisa is still a very popular piece of art and I believe that it will be even more popular in the future.

Comment on a movie you have just seen - La La Land

I was watching a movie La La Land last Thursday. It is a musical. The movie has achieved many awards and people have liked it. It is also nominated for an Oscar winner in many different categories. The movie was different than I usually watch but that is the reason why it was really good.

La La Land is interesting because it is old-fashioned but it is still about this day. Colors of the film are spectacular. After seeing this movie I would like to travel to Hollywood 50 s. Many people think Jazz music is boring but it is really good in this movie. In addition, the main actors Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are both very good in their roles. They are very good singers and dancers.

The movie is happy and sad at the same time. I don't want to reveal too much but I was a little disappointed with the end of the story. But I still loved it.

Kommentti: My Oscar speech

Dear guests,

First, I would like to thank close friend of mine who has been supported me throughout this journey and made me believe in myself. He has helped me at those moments when I have felt that I can’t do this or I don’t deserve this.

I would also like to thank my family, they have been a great support and incredibly patient. They have said that “You can do this” and they have always believed in me. They have supported me to do what I really want to do in my life and that is why I appreciate them so much. My parents and siblings are the best role for me. In addition, a great film director, production team, the other actors and all people who have worked on the film. I wouldn’t be standing here without you guys.

This award is not only for me. This is about us. This is about our work. This award tells about our journey. Together we have achieved the award which we all should be proud of. I want to thank my fans and all my supporters. You are the biggest reason why I want to do what I do. You and my passion towards acting. Thank you.

What books mean to me?/The importance of reading

I read less books than before. I hate to admit that but it is true. When I was younger I used almost all of my free time reading books because it made me forget the real world. In my opinion people should read more.

I think that my own reading has decreased because I watch TV-series and movies and I think that other people have the same problem which is stupid. Usually books are better than films. Then there is also a school. People have to read so many books in school and if they want to get a good job they have to study hard. That’s why I think most of people are too tired to start reading a new book after school books. They think it is as boring as studying. In addition, reading takes more time than watching films. The movie takes about two hours and a book can take a few weeks.

However, I try to read as often as possible. Every time when I have read a good book I remember how much I like about it. For me books are a way to escape from the real world and I can think something else. For example, if I am stressed or I want to be alone in silence I think that books and reading are the best option.

Describe a concert you have attended

In September I went to Justin Bieber’s concert in Helsinki. A couple years ago Bieber was in Finland but I wasn’t in his gig then because I didn’t listen to his music. In 2015, Justin began to make more my style of music and I decided that if he ever comes to Finland I have to go to listen him.

About two weeks before the show, I decided to book tickets for Bieber’s concert with my friends. Our seats were at the top because they were the cheapest. When we went to the concert, there were a lot of people, especially women and girls but I was surprised how many boys I also saw there. When we were going to our place one of the workers came to say that we can change our seats to the stalls for free. We were very confused in a good way because it was the nearest and the most expensive location.

The concert was good even though Justin didn’t sing all the songs by live. The concert was criticized a lot in the media but I love it, despite the fact that Justin seemed tired. However, he was really friendly towards fans.

My cultural profile

Culture means different things to me and other people. Till example, people who live in Africa, there are many cultural differences compared to me. Culturally I can’t consider myself to be completely Finn. I have lived in UK which will affect my cultural profile. However, I have raised in Southern Finland which discovers my values and upbringing. There are many cultural differences between the Finnish people as well.

Finnish language is one of the important things which can be seen in me. I think the Finnish language is beautiful and I am glad that I get to call that my own language. However, in my opinion Finnish nature is the most important part of the Finnish culture. In Finland, we have a lot of lakes and the four seasons. A good education is also a part of the Finnish culture and I am proud of that.

My cultural profile consists about things and the people around me. For me the best part of being Finnish and our culture are all the different celebrations, for example, May Day and Midsummer.
